What the software does

Fuzzy name matching

Transliterations, misspellings, reversed word order and company endings still match, each with a score and the list it came from.

Batch CSV screening

Upload a customer or supplier file and screen every row in one run. On every paid plan, with the row limit rising by plan.

Daily re-screening

Save the names you need to keep checking. Each one is re-screened against the updated lists every day, with an email when a new match appears.

Audit trail

Every search is logged with the date and time, the name, the result and who ran it, and exports as CSV.

REST API

Screen from your onboarding or payments flow. Single and batch endpoints, on every plan including the trial.

PDF records

Starter and up include a free timestamped PDF of every web search and batch file. Without a plan, one search's PDF is $9.99.

Next to the free official search tools

Governments publish free search pages for their own lists. They are the authoritative source. Here is what a screening tool adds.

Feature OFACScreen Official search tools

Batch CSV screening Yes No
Saved names re-screened daily Yes No

The official column describes the free search pages governments publish for their own lists, such as OFAC's Sanctions List Search. Use them to confirm a match against the source.

What we cover

Sanctions and export-control lists: OFAC SDN, OFAC Non-SDN, EU Financial Sanctions, UN Security Council, UK Sanctions List, Canada SEMA, Swiss SECO, Australia DFAT, BIS Denied Persons, BIS Entity List, BIS Unverified List, BIS Military End-User, ITAR Debarred and State Nonproliferation.

What we do not cover

PEP lists, adverse media and identity verification are not part of OFACScreen. If your program needs them in one tool, an enterprise vendor is the better fit.

For a few names a year, the free tools may be enough. A screening tool searches every list at once with fuzzy matching, screens files, re-screens saved names every day, and keeps a record of each search that you can export for an examiner.
Every search from an account is logged with the date and time, the name searched, the result and which team member ran it. You can export the log as CSV for any date range, and Starter and up also keep a PDF of every web search and batch file.
