What the tools do

screen_entity

Takes a person or company name. Fuzzy matching finds transliterations and spelling variants, and an exact wallet address or ID number published on a list returns that entry. It also takes the party's email, phone number or website and names any listed party recorded with one of them. A score is name similarity, not a finding that the match is the same person.

screen_address

Takes a street address with a street or building, such as Tverskaya 7, Moscow. Returns the listed parties whose recorded address resembles it, with the listed address each was found on, and names any embargoed or high-risk country or region the address points to. Screen the names of the people at the address too: a clear address does not clear them.

list_sanctions_sources

Returns each list's code, name, issuing authority, last update and entry count. screen_entity and screen_address search all 14 lists unless you pass them codes from this tool to search those lists instead. The codes are also at https://api.ofacscreen.com/api/v1/lists/.

search and fetch

ChatGPT deep research and company knowledge use these two. search takes a person or company name and returns the closest listed entries, each linked to its search on ofacscreen.com. fetch returns one of those entries with its list, program, entry type, aliases and locations.
